Introduction to international activities



There is a growing interest and activity internationally in financial capability and an increased recognition of the need for enhanced financial education. 

On 18 November 2008, the European Parliament, by resolution, commented on personal finance education. The session document entitled ‘On protecting the consumer: improving consumer education and awareness on credit and finance’ is available here.

The National Consumer Agency shares best practice internationally around financial capability and financial education through

  • the EU Commission and Parliament including the EU Expert Group on financial education; and
  • the OECD International Network on Financial Education.
